| I have an interesting question for everyone to discuss, well, sometimes I notice that a monster's attack did more damage to me than normally - one of my friends had nearly full health of 150 and died from a G-Rank Khezu's neck fling attack when it wouldn't normally do so much damage... Other incidents when I had a large health bar drop more than normally expected So I was wondering if maybe monsters have affinities too, do they make critical hits like us? Note that there is no Demonic Protection on when this occured

| It's something to look for, I think it's very possible - people have told me stories in Freedom 2 where they have full Akantor and getting one-hit KO'd by Plessy's hip attack | |

| Yes it is possible, for example, if you have DEMONIC protection with you, there is 30% of chances of the monster kicking your ass with a single hit, can deal 150 damage with a hit. And if you have DIVINE protection, the opposite will happen.
EDIT: Akantor set had demonic protection on f2

| I was referring to your second post where you mentioned that you heard stories of people having full akantor set. Anyway they do have critical hits, happened to me a lot of times, having the neccesary health points to survive an attack from certain monster and getting killed. | |

| Oh, that could be true, they told me they didn't have it but they could have been mistaken thanks for the input | |

| yeah i guess it is possible recently on MHfrontier someone with almost 400 defence got was killed in 1 hit from a volganos jump move when it would normally do only a little to him and people on are team with weaker armor then him survived and he didnt have demonic protection ....makes you think huh | |

| it does make you wonder, and it's not like Capcom is going to tell us anything about it so... player research is in order | |

| If we could prove that monsters do have an affinity, it would make for an impressive discovery - but to actually prove it we'd need evidence and statstics | |

| For me, they do have affinity.
Things like Demonic protection works like Reckless abandon for them.
The critical is there, things like divine protection just give you less chances of that happening while demonic give you more chances of getting killed with a critical.
Well at least that's the way i see it.

| Mark, please try to refrain from double posting - it's a fourm rule :/ Use the edit button and don't worry, with more posts your rank will go up and your icon will change into more awesome stuff I agree with Saha's theory, I feel the same way about it | |

| Double posting is when you have two posts together, one right after another, instead of posting a new reply just press the edit button to add more information to that post I just deleted the doubled post and copied what you said into your previous post, It's no big deal though, don't worry about it | |
